research & consultancy on gender issues
We aim to promote understanding of gender inequality, generate new data and identify gender gaps to help local communities, voluntary organisations, service deliverers and policy makers tackle the ongoing problems caused by the way gender norms are constructed, policed and embedded in the social structure.
We carry out participatory gender audits of organisations and programmes to promote equitable practice, and gender impact assessments looking at the potential differential impact of policies, programmes and services on women and men.
We use a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods, as appropriate. One of our strengths is participatory, action-oriented research designed to build the capacity of organisations to integrate a gender dimension into programmes and service delivery
